VW pleads responsible, faces $196 million positive in Canada for diesel scandal
Prosecutors in Canada on Wednesday proposed a $196.5 million positive ($258.three million CAN) positive towards Volkswagen Group after the corporate pleaded responsible to dozens of counts of diesel emissions violations, an organization spokesman confirmed.
Volkswagen was charged in December with importing almost 128,000 autos into Canada violating emissions requirements. VW pleaded responsible after being charged with 60 counts of breaching the Canadian Environmental Safety Act and offering deceptive data. The corporate stated final month it had reached “a proposed plea decision” with out disclosing particulars.
